Words at the Memorial by Jeremy Blackwater
This is sacred space
All my relatives.
Pollen and tobacco
Declare it so.
This is sacred time
We remember him
Laughing aloud
Spreading joy.
He walks in the Spirit World
He is sacred too.
No one can deny
His walk in beauty.
Why he chose to die
Is not the question.
For a moment,
He lost his way.
Now he is complete
Whole, walking proud
Remembered in love
Enfolded in eternity.
