Unpredictability by Evelyn Wheeler

Evelyn Wheeler

“It gets really unnerving, having enough and more than enough, when we consider all those who have nothing. It’s not about guilt, but more about the complete unpredictability of life that at least temporarily seems to favor some rather than others. The ground is unstable. Reality takes a turn to the sacred. The sacred brings out the chasm between us and God. The chasm that only God can bridge – and the possibility that God can also choose not to bridge. How much we all need mercy.”
