On Phillippines’ Disaster by Nathan Blackwater

I watch the wind

Blowing relatives down.

I feel the cold

Of bodies in the rain.

I can’t imagine

Not having some place

To hide from

Relentless sky fury.

Even a rock ledge

Or a gully

To hide from ferocity

Is better than nothing

Creator of all

Be with our relatives

In villages far away

Free them from the grip of terror.

Earth Maker

Pain Bearer

Life Healer

Hear our prayer.
