On Seeing a Man huddled in an alley by Jay Begay

I see it every day.  There are too many men who stumble getting to their feet, looking around with vacant eyes. I say hi to them and sometimes get them coffee or fries. It still gets warm during the day but it is cold at night and early morning. It is not that they are sleeping on the ground. It is the looking around and finding no way to go

Prayer for those who suffer.

Holy Creator, Great Spirit watch over those who suffer without knowing how to make it stop. Enfold them in the arms of your mercy when they are down. Bless them in their hurt. Give them a light out of their darkness. Help us to know how to reach out. In the name of the Christ. Amen
